Penang - one of the Malaysian states can be found on the north-western coast consisting of the Penang Island and the hinterland of Seberang Perai on the mainland. Penang International Airport (IATA code: PEN) is located near the Bayan Lepan suburb, just 14 km south of George Town. It processes over 5.5 million passengers annually and AirAsia uses the airport as one of its hubs. A taxi ride from the airport to George Town takes approx. 40 min and costs RM60.
